What actual data format does a Bitcoin Core wallet.dat have?

I’m trying to extract the transaction log from a bunch of wallet.dat files. Not private keys.

If I load them into Bitcoin Core, it just freezes forever doing whatever work I don’t need or want. All I want is to get access to the transaction log stored inside the wallet.dat.

I can’t find any mention of what format this “.dat” file actually has. I just want to be able to extract the data I need and not have it “rescan” or “rebuild” the blockchain, or whatever Bitcoin Core tries to do when I load it into it. It seriously takes forever, even for just one, and I have tons of them.

Those sketchy Python scripts found on Github seem both dead and full of dependencies which I don’t want on my computer. Also, they seem to only be for extracting private keys.

I’m absolutely stuck and have no idea what to do at this point. This is so annoying. And there seems to be no way to make Bitcoin Core skip all its “reloading” nonsense and simply just let me view the transactions so I can “Export as CSV” from Bitcoin Core.
